Our tours are fun, informative, original and delicious. Once you’ve tried us, you’ll know why we say… Nosh your way from Odessa to Bombay and never leave New York!View our Tour Schedule to see if anything tempts you or learn about the custom tour program to see how I can organize a private Noshwalk for your group or organization.
Each season of tours can take you through the richest ethnic neighborhoods in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island.
This Web site will tell you all you need to know about Noshwalks, but here’s a thumbnail:
In February ‘99, I launched Noshnews, a newsletter about the best markets, bakeries and eateries in NYC’s ethnic neighborhoods, and in August 2000 I began leading Noshwalks. I introduced “custom” walks in 2001. But I’ve been sharing my passion for NYC neighborhoods with folks for nearly 20 years, since co-founding Hungry Pedalers Gourmet Bicycle Tours in 1983. (See About Myra Alperson for details.)
Below are some comments from folks who’ve joined Noshwalks, along with some photos. Then click away through the rest of the Web site for more details (and pictures). I hope to meet you on a Noshwalk some time!

Meeting folks like Apiar Afarian is one of the highlights of writing for Noshnews and leading Noshwalks.
The head chef at Kalustyan Foods, he prepares all sorts of Mediterranean specialties at this amazing market/deli, which was founded in 1944 as an Indian market but now sells products from round the world. I describe it as the F.A.O. Schwarz of food stores!

Noshwalks Bubbly epicure Myra Alperson uses food—and lots of it—to draw crowds to out-of-the-way neighborhoods in all five boroughs. A typical Noshwalk tempts you with treats from bakeries, groceries and restaurants; on past jaunts, Alperson has taken tourgoers to a kosher matzoh factory in Brooklyn and a Sri Lanken market in Staten Island. Oh, and there’s some walking, too.
